Yes, we have been in denial for few weeks for sure. Even yesterday, I got out on the kayak with little Talus under sunny skies and 15 degrees....it was awesome.
But today, though dry, there was that familiar fall chill in the air whispering "Winter is almost here".
So, here are my top 5 reasons why that is actually a good thing:
1. The salmon, bears, and trees love it (thanks for the reminder Dad)
2. It serves as an excuse to stay inside late on a Sunday morning and have a Gangham Style dance party in your PJ's (Come on, I know you do it too...and half a billion people can't be wrong).
3. When we do get out and shred, run, play, whatever; we feel extra rewarded later when we are in our cozy house looking at the rain...knowing we were out there...we braved it and loved it!
4. Four words: muddy faces post ride!
And finally...
5. When we do get that blue bird day, we will all appreciate it and savour every second!
Here's to the rainy season. See you out there in it!

I'm back....Did you miss me?
Well, my first and last post was March 30th...2011!! Needless to say, I am long overdue. The past year and a half, I have been figuring out this social media stuff and learning the best ways to connect. Blogging, it looks like will be one of them.
I needed to sort out my angle, my passion, my reason for rambling, if you will. I think I have it figured out and it is very simple:
Live to Play. Play to Live.
This is our space to share our adventures in the back country and to talk about how awesome we feel when we push ourselves and spend time outside.
I write a monthly article for the Coast Reporter now called Get Out There (www.coastreporter.net). I will likely link in with that too.
I hope you will join me on this adventure. I want to hear your stories too as we celebrate all that is fabulous about playing outside.
Oh, and I promise to post more regularly now...way more regularly!
Until next time, see you out there!

In the meantime, happy trails. Time for me to play outside......
